Deandra Ross

Total Rewards and People Operations Manager

Deandra is a true believer in the power of people. Her People Ops mantra is a famous quote from Lawerence Bossidy, “I am convinced that nothing we do is more important than hiring and developing people. At the end of the day, you bet on people not on strategies.” This belief has led her to a Master’s Degree in Human Resources and Employment Labor Relations with concentrations in Benefits and Compensation from The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State). Along her academic journey, she earned her Professional in Human Resources Management (PHR) and Society for Human Resources Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certifications.

Deandra has over 13 years of human resources experience. Deandra was a global partner at Sizmek where she managed benefits, HR administration and launched a successful wellness program. Intrigued by partnering with those in tech, she joined Informatica and Indeed’s human resources teams. During her tenure at Indeed, she managed US and Canadian benefits, and launched a call center. She is most proud of implementing programs that are aligned with diversity and inclusion benefits such as expanded benefits for expecting parents (birth and adopting), and gender reassignment.  She was an active member in the Black Inclusion Group and Women at Indeed. Most recently, Deandra was a human resources team member of one the world’s top financial firms, Dimensional Fund Investments.

Deandra is a California native who moved to Austin 15 years ago. She has four children, Ericka, Allaysha, Arion, and Sydney with her supportive and loving husband Clifton. In her spare time, she loves to travel to any beach location (except those in Texas) with her husband. She hangs out with her parents, who are her biggest supporters in everything she does. She enjoys the challenge in weightlifting and you can find her in her home gym or local rec gym as early as 5am on most weekdays.  Deandra is an avid learner and consistently attends HR conferences to keep her aware of the ever-changing world of HR.
