Feature Vector

Online. A vector containing multiple elements (features) about an object. Machine learning algorithms typically require a numerical representation of objects in order for the algorithms to do processing and statistical analysis (an elementary breakdown of this is the example of a row within a relational table). Feature vectors are the equivalent of vectors of explanatory variables that are used in statistical procedures such as linear regression. A simple example of a feature vector is the RGB determinants of colors (for example, the RGB color 8, 78, 131 represents Molecula blue).
